SID Lockout
I just did an overhaul on my sid sl and the lockout does not work. i bought it used off of ebay and it needed an overhaul because the shock needed it. I have been through everything about 100 times and it still does not work. I changed all of the O rings new oil and a new preload assembly directly from sram. Can anyone give some suggestions on what i should do????

Lockouts usually work by closing the valving in the damper assembly. So either the lever is not turning the shaft to close the valve or the valve has been damaged in some fashion. This can happen if youu have the lockout on and hit something big, hard. A lot of forks have blowoff protection but a really strong hit might still damage the valving.
First make sure the knob is actually turning something. If it is then you will probably need a new damper assembly.

A bike shop won't do anything you have not already done. It really sounds like you have a damaged valve in the damper. I am pretty sure you can't get individual pieces for it, the damper, and will need to replace it as a unit. You may be able to find the assembly on line or in a local shop(They would probably have to order it) Or you can live without the lock out

I assume that you did cycle the damper assembly up and down several times with the syringe in the top of the fork leg to bleed out any air in the assembly. You did not mention that in your original post so I just wanted to make sure. If you have any air in the damper then the fork will compress when locked out.

Problem solved. I contacted Sram directly. I spoke with Ed and Chris and they were helpful in everyway. The told me that they would send me a whole new compression assembly for my fork at no cost!!!!!They sent it directly to my local bike store. Picked it up on thurday and did the install this morning.
I must say that Sram/Rockshox has great customer service.
