Truing Easton Orion II wheels

My rear wheel is a bit out of true. I read somewhere that truing these wheels is a bit tricky with the Twin Thread spokes. Any tips?

I also heard that truing them yourself or at you LBS voids Easton's warranty, but that might be old info.

Thanks!

You should true them the same as you do any wheel. They come from the factory with the hub threads treated with Loctite 262, which will hold them in place. Whether that voids the warranty or not I can't tell you. Also, replacing spokes is not as easy as it is on a standard wheel due to the loctite. You need to heat the threads, the remnants must be removed, then the new spoke must have new Loctite applied. The spokes are hard to get, although Easton will send them to you, and the specific type of Loctite is also hard to find. It isn't generally available at Home Depot or Lowes, or even auto-supply shops.

Overall however, I really like the way Easton wheels ride.
