8 Speed Cassette on a 7 Speed Freehub.
Hello, I have a 7speed freehub on my bike. I want to change the cassette for one with a 34T ring for the inclines. Unfortunately finding a cassette that is (1) 7 Speed (2) 34T and (3) For a Freehub, seams almost impossible in my area.
I have drawn so many blanks, I am now considering whether I would I be able to buy a 8 Speed Cassette, chuck the 11T and use it as a 7 speed?
Anybody have any thoughts on this?

You can't just "chuck" the smallest cog. It's designed to accept the lock ring.
8 speed spacing is also different, so indexed shifting would be off.
You could swap a cog or 2 from the 8 speed and not affect things too much, especially if it's the last cog on the end.
Shimano lists a 13-34 "K" cassette in 7 speed.
