Swapping clamp on a Campy f/d
I have a 35mm Campy f/d and I need a 32mm, can I just swap the clamp?

Apparently so. Campy fd's allow switching clamp sizes and allow you to convert a clamp-on to a braze-on and the reverse.
Now, finding the replacement parts is another question and their cost may make buying an entire new derailleur a better option. Branford bike has an exploded view on their web site but doesn't seem to offer the required parts either: http://branfordbike.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=870 |
What's possible and practical are not always the same. Campy spare parts are so expensive, that swapping clamps is not practical or cost effective.
The smartest choice is a braze-on FD with a clamp-on adapter. I consider the adapter to be part of the frame, so it will always accept a braze-on FD. |

About the only Campy components that are really serviceable in a practical sense these days are Ergo brifters and even they can be marginal for cost compared to replacement. |
I had a clamp on Record FD that I switched to braze on. I just bought a cheaper used derailler from ebay and switched the parts. Cost was about $20.
