need help to find a RSX hub part
I was repacking the bearings on my sons wheelset, and I damaged the non drive side dust cover on a Shimano RSX 7 speed hub..
trying to undent the dust cap was to no avail, if anything I made it worse,to where I could feel it slowing the rotation of the wheel down when spun... where in the world can I get a replacement, I have it open now, but with the sand here in Florida, it isn't a real good idea.. |
Do you have a pic of the part you are referring to or can you describe it better? I think you're referring to the thin sheet-metal cover that typically bends upon removal. If so, I'd like to find out where to buy them myself.

I've been able to straighten these thin metal covers using a light hammer and a plastic rod as a punch working on a flat surface. Be particularly careful around the axle hole and you may have to file away a small amount to get clearance.
In the future, they can be removed with minimal distortion by using a wide flat blade screwdriver and inserting it far enough to pry on the outer edge. |
Junk bin of your lbs is bound to have a few.
