7-speed Sora STI compatibility with 105 RD/FD

Hi,

I got an older road bike with a full 105 2x7 groupset, complete with downtube shifters. I have the opportunity to buy a pair of 7-speed ST-3300 Sora STI brifters in great condition, complete with downtube cable stops. The left brifter is for a double crankset and has trim clicks.

I don't hate downtube shifters, but I'm 6'2" and I have a 61cm frame with a long stem and headtube, so the shifters are pretty far away from the bars.

So, I was wondering if the Sora brifters would be compatible with my 105 RD and FD.

Thanks!

yes for RD, maybe for FD.
the cable pull ratio for the FD might not match up properly.

Should work fine. I did basically the same upgrade on a 3x7 105 equipped 1992 Trek 1420 swaping the downtube shifters for 7-speed RSX brifters. No problems.
