well i done it! :P
well i said i was going to and i did i managed to finnish it in about a hour and half i suppose but i was very chuffed at the end getting it trued by a bike shop on saturday. first wheel iv ever laced btw.

hello thank you all yes it is a 4 crossed cant wait to get out on it. also iv orderd new we the people white spokes for my front wheel also

Well done! I see you got the valve hole in the right place too.
Just a note in case you decide to build an externally geared wheel sometime:
It's marginally better to lace the DS of an externally geared wheel with the reverse order of spokes heads-in and heads-out. That way drive torque will help pull the spoke AWAY from the derailer as opposed to against it (as your current lace would do).

To me, building (lacing) a wheel is simple. Truing just takes more time and can be a pain in the ass.

I consider it building a wheel if one does both. Otherwise it's either lacing, or truing a wheel. I don't consider it a PITA to true, etc. a wheel I'm building. I find I get immersed in the rhythm of the work. It's meditative in it's own way. I very much enjoy it.

lacing a wheel is MUCH easier than tensioning it.
i do give you props tho, 48h 4 cross is not an easy first build! And laced to a big city?? damn, that wheel will be able to withstand neuclear bombs!! ha. enjoy!

thank you all i just got back from bike shop today and its a s smooth as a babys bum the bloke said brilliant for a first build and iv orderd new spokes for my front wheel now i let u know how i get on
