Wow, is that a 48-spoke wheel? What are you jumping that off of, bridges?

That looks pretty hardcore. I'm sure it's damn durable though. 4 cross?

Well done! I see you got the valve hole in the right place too.

Just a note in case you decide to build an externally geared wheel sometime:
It's marginally better to lace the DS of an externally geared wheel with the reverse order of spokes heads-in and heads-out. That way drive torque will help pull the spoke AWAY from the derailer as opposed to against it (as your current lace would do).

Nice job. But if you built it, why can't you true it? Much less work involved.

To me, building (lacing) a wheel is simple. Truing just takes more time and can be a pain in the ass.

I consider it building a wheel if one does both. Otherwise it's either lacing, or truing a wheel. I don't consider it a PITA to true, etc. a wheel I'm building. I find I get immersed in the rhythm of the work. It's meditative in it's own way. I very much enjoy it.

lacing a wheel is MUCH easier than tensioning it.

i do give you props tho, 48h 4 cross is not an easy first build! And laced to a big city?? damn, that wheel will be able to withstand neuclear bombs!! ha. enjoy!
