Mavic 501 Hub - Broken Axle

I have a Mavic 501 126mm 32 Hole Freewheel Hub that has a broken axle. Any ideas on where I can obtain parts to repair? These are such beautiful hubs, i hate to cannibilize a know good one. I am not able to contact Mavic directly as I am not an authorized repair center.

I have the same hubs as you and I found Mavic was useless. You just have to be patient and wait till something comes up on ebay. Or keep doing Internet searches until you find the part that you need.

Ok, I'll ask the obvious. Have you contacted an authorized repair center? Mavic should at least be able to tell you who the closest one is.

They are beautiful hubs. Please let us know if you find a source for axles. I haven't broken one, but I'd like to have a spare rear axle just in case.

Yes I have tried to contact a repair center. I am in Mission Viejo, CA there is only one LBS close to me listed as a repair center on Mavic's web site. They have not been able to help. I have called a few other shops within 25 miles and have yet to hear back from them. Hence my call for help.

I have an axle, do you still need it? I also have a few of those hubs I'll never use so maybe we can work a trade.

Hey Neil. I am still interested. I do not have much of anything in the way of parts to trade. I am open to suggestions. Can we speak off line. I can be reached at wlabigan@gmail.com. Thans for your post.
