Campy 8 Speed Chorus Hubs

10 years ago I bought new Campy Chorus 8 speed hubs and derailleurs. I am under the impression that the Chous Exe 8 speed hubs will work only with Campy 8 speed cassettes. Is this true?
Will newer 9 and 10 speed cranksets, bar end shifters, derailleurs work with the 8 speed hub and cassette?
Any workarounds?
Thanks,
Gary

The 8 speed system had more cog-cog separation.
Marchisio make cogs with separate spacers so you can make almost anything work.
For mongrel gear systems, as long as the cog separation matches the movement of the rear mech per click it will work and it doesnt mattter how many cogs you have.

Michael W, thanks for the response.
Michael W, thanks for the response.

Can Marchisio be found thru Google?

9 and 10 speed Campy bar ends, cranksets, work with 8 speed Campy hubs and cassettes?
I read in another post that 10 speed cranksets would need 10 speed chains.

thanks,

Gary

I'm running a 9/10 speed Campy compact crankset with an otherwise entirely 8-speed Record groupo, including the chain. Shifts fine.

If you want to save some money on a cassette with the Campy 8 hub, try the Miche. Miche is as good as Campy in most people's accounts. And it's more esoteric - how many know what Miche is? Campagnolo farms out manufacturing on some components to Miche. Campagnolo is what Miche would be if they spent a fortune on athletes & advertising.

That's my opinion. And I'm running a Miche 8 on my vintage Puch - I love it! I also have a Campagnolo 8 new-in-box somewhere in my clutter, and it's staying there until my Miche gets killed - heaven forbid.
