Shimano FC6600 compact chainrings possible?

My Bianchi came with Shimano FC6600 crank with 53/39 chainrings and I would like to change to Compact Drive. Can I just swap to 50/34 rigns or need to buy a whole compact crankset?
Please advise.

you need a new crankset since the bolt holes will not line up.
