Integrated fork work with regular headset?

Maybe that title sucks.....

I have a road bike fork that is made for a frame with an integrated headset. I have a frame that uses a standard headset with ordinary headset cups.

Can the two be made to work together? If not, feel free to tell me it's a stupid idea. (I haven't hit my quota for stupid ideas this week)

Only the frame is integrated, the fork shouldn't care. You should be a able to use the fork in a non-integrated frame.
