Mounting Fenders

I have a Cannondale CAAD 9 and want to mount fenders. The riding club I want to join demands full length fenders with mud flaps. The fenders I have are the Planet Bike Cascadia Road model. I have small rubber coated clamps to go around the carbon fork. How do I mount the fender to the back of the recessed nut on the front brake?

On the rear fender I have the same clamps to mount to the seat stay but how do I mount the fender to the brake and how do I fasten the end of the fender?

Take the brake off, put the mount in between the brake caliper and the fork/frame, bolt everything together. Make sure the brakes are centered before you tighten everything down.

The front of the rear fender can be tied down with zip ties and a little creativity.

I hope there's room between the tire and the fork crown and/or frame.

on a CAAD9? there's about 7mm of clearance between the fork and a truely 23mm wide tyre, for the rear it's about 9mm

a 28mm tyre wouldn't fit so it would be very tight for any fender.

That's what I was afraid of... a bike with clearances that tight isn't suitable for bad-weather riding. You need to run tires at a lower pressure to maintain traction, and that means you need wider tires to keep from pinch-flatting. (Fixing flats in the rain is freakin' miserable.)

If you still want to put fenders on the CAAD9, you may want to try some Blades: https://www.biketiresdirect.com/pskfx...fenders/pp.htm
I've also seen some fenders with brackets that go over the top of the brake caliper, but I don't know the brand.
