2009 Campy Centaur levers - which cables to use??

I just bought a set of 2009 Campy Centaur levers.. Do you know if this requires the 2009 Campy Ultrashift cable and housing kit.. I have a new set of last years campy cables, new in the box..

I have been told that the older cables will work OK, just want to be sure..

The shifters should have come with new cables - that's part of the price. The old shift cable housing will NOT work. The brake cables and housing will work. The new shifters require a maximum housing diameter of 4.1mm, compared to the old 4.4mm and NO ferrules at the ergo body.

I once tried jagwire 4mm cable, but it had excessive friction, resulting in poor shifting. I've bought, but not yet tried, some Shimano 4mm housing.

The only critical housing is the right side for the RD. Any excessive friction will result in poor shifts to smaller cogs.

I bought them at a good price without cables for 150.00.. I have been told that they will work and others say they will not... The one who said it will work stated that the new cables and housing was only a requirement of the new 11 speed levers and not the centaur 10 speed..

That is totally wrong. The 2009 Centaur or Veloce shifters have the exact same ergo body as 11 speed. You have been misinformed. Trust me, I have both.
