rims for 32mm tires

Want to build some wheels for my trek soho 1.0 commuter. What rims will work well for 32mm tires? I plan to transplant the disc brake hub from my stock wheels.

Strong and heavy-duty touring rims would serve you well. Look into Mavic A719 rims. They are bombproof, yet give a fast and nimble ride. I built a pair for my Trek - love 'em!

just about any road rim will take a 32mm tire.

Most road rims come out in the 15-17mm width range, easily able to take a tire of that size, and even larger if you want.

Somehow I ended up with a touring bike equipped with 13mm rims (wtf!), and two other road bikes with 14mm rims. I haven't measured my newest bike yet with Ksyrliums, but so far I'm falling outside your range. So basically, it's best to check the specs on the rims.

I was quite upset when I got the touring bike home and couldn't put 32's on it (and I really wanted 35s!).

13mm?! Touring?? Touring where? To the LBS to buy more? Hooey! Get rid of them! Send 'em back! Throw 'em through the owners window! Mavic A319's a A719's are perfect rims for your intended usage. And they are 25mm cross-width. Smallest they will take is 28C - 25C in a pinch <koff>.

Go with either of those and your gold. Light, strong, fast, and nimble. Not cheap (the A319 being less $$$), but top of the line.

Why are so many bike-shop run by people with no interest in doing the right thing? Ack!
