Shimano 105 LEFT shifter

I've seen plenty of threads about the 105 LEFT shifter. It breaks, it doesn't shift right, it jammed - then broke. I've had two replaced on my bike, and I've only just gone over 2000 miles with it since Oct last. Well, it looks like there may be a fix in the future. The problem seems to be that it is set up for three rings, though I'm running two. So, it overshifts, jams, then breaks. I haven't really had any trouble with it since the last fix, and I've tried to be more gentle with it. However, the shop I go to (Performance in San Diego (Sorrento Valley)) has now told me that Shimano is now making 105's for TWO chainrings. They will let me know when it comes in, so that they can replace it. Finally! No more worries about that problem. So, if you are having or had similar problems, contact your local shop and ask them about it.
