The Everest freewheels were pretty much Regina clones and came in 2 different styles, depending on age. If yours has 2 slots for the tool, you need this tool:

If yours has a splined body, you need this tool:

I have a parktool FR4 already, but the axle nut is on its way, and the FR4 cannot reach into the spline.

Remove the locknut first. If necessary, you can remove the axle first.

If you can't get the spacer out (remove the locknut and it should just slide out) to get access to the splines, you may need to scare up a Zeus freewheel tool (or Phil's copy of the Zeus tool). The Zeus/Phil tool is thin enough to squeeze by the locknut and spacer, but you have to treat it nicely.

I always just removed the axle nut. Pretty standard.

I got the freewheel out by removing the lock nut first. Thank you for the suggestion. That was
my thinking too, but I didn't think it was an "acceptable" procedure.
Thanks.
