DA/ Downtube shifter??

I have a DA/ DT 10 sp shifter, and the directions have a reference to 2 washers, it says "be careful of the positions of the bent parts", referring to two washers. The Pic is less than clear....I think I have them aligned properly on the shifter lever, BUT.. since there are no repair parts for 10 sp shifters, is there any thing I should be especially carefull of when I install them???? Any Direction would be greatly appreciated....

Any help?

I might find more . . . I know they are older than yours, but my light actions have this exact same assembly, so maybe it isn't different for yours.

It looks like the washers are similar to 4 and 5 in the thing you posted...However, The ones in mine have various protrusions that need to line up with something...looking at my pics its less than clear what lines up with what...my concern is, if I don't get it right I may break off a protrusion on a washer and have to buy a new shifter cause parts are not available. I was hopefull that someone had installed one of these things, and could provide some guidance...

I'm sure someone knows around here, but when I assembled mine (I had disassembled to clean) it was relatively clear how to reassemble, that is, I could only get them to seat properly one way. Take your time, experiment, but if I was unable to move the lever the washers were not oriented correctly. The protrusions (I believe) are the limiters. Someone around here has to know better than I, good luck! I was thinking about getting these myself but I saw Ultegra brifters for cheap, so I think I'm going to go that route.

Sorry to hijack, does anyone know where I could find that aero shifter adapter in the picture in the middle of the bottom row?

Well Gentlemen, The deed is done!!!!All is well ...I just got back from the test ride and it is good..I spent some time after the shifter install, looking for a longer inner cable, because the one with the shifter was to short, and running thru the DR adjustments to tidy them up.

Again Thanks for the guidance , it really was obvious, how the washers went, but I was worried about screwing them up....Now to enjoy my 1983, modern 10 speed, Motta (its white....)
