    Ergo power brake cable

I am building up a bike with campy for the first time. when i got to installing the brake cables i hit a snag. the rear cable went in fine but the front cable is not going in. the fitting on the end of the cable wont sit all the way in the spot where it is supposed to sit in the shifter/brake lever.

    thanks

I goofed when I read this and thought of cable housing, not the cable. I concur with others posting below. Be sure you have the correct cable and note that the stop at the top of the lever rotates, so the wrong side can be facing forward. The larger countersunk side of the stop must be forward.

Is it the brake cable housing or the inner wire that's giving you problems? Campy brake inner wires have a slightly different end fitting than Shimano et. al and, unless they are Campy specific or modified to fit, they may not seat properly.

BTW, Campy shift inner wires definitely have different diameter end fittings than Shimano and using the wrong wires can result in nearly hopeless jams when it come time to change them.

At the risk of the obvious, the bushing where the cable threads through only has one side countersunk for the cable end, at least on the "older" 10 speed. Could it be possible you have inserted the cable in the wrong end of the bushing?
