Sturmey-Archer 3 speed question
Glancing through the 09-10 S-A catalogue, I noticed that, in addition to the S3X offerings, they have bar end shifters available for non-fixed gear 3 speed hubs.
Would I be able to use this bar end shifter with a NOS 80s SA 3 speed hub? Or is it only compatible with their new hubs? |
The old and new 3 speeds can use the same shifters. I'm using a 70's trigger shifter with a new SRF3.

They are in the new catalog but I am not sure that they are actually available yet. Like the S3X still vaporware IMO until I can actually buy it.

I sure hope Sturmey/Sunrace can pull it together. They have a few really amazing ideas, S3X and non-gripshift shifters included, that they seem to be having trouble getting off the ground. I wish they would forget about competing with ShimanoSramCampy with their "Driven" line of cheesy carbon wrapped racing components. If they'd focus on the utility/practical/weirdo market, I'm sure they could find a niche. How many of you would love some quality, 8 or 9 speed XT style thumb shifters? I can't be the only one, can I?
