having trouble removing my cranks.

Hello I was looking for some advice in removing my cranks from my bike. they are stuck on pretty tightly and I figure they haven't been taken off for a while. I tried using wd-40 but it still won't budge an inch, any products you would recommend, by the way they are Stronglight cranks with a square taper if that makes a difference. the reason for the removal is because the bottom bracket is original known for failure and I want to replace them now before they break on me later. thanks in advance

I presume that you are using the proper crank tool? What is the specific problem? The chuck part of the tool won't go in? Or something else?

Edit: I looked a little more. You need a specific 23.35mm crank puller for these. And they don't seem like they're too cheap either compared to the standard ones. (https://velo-orange.com/jast23stcrpu.html)

In cases where the crank-extractor threads are bad, I just stick a motorcycle tyre-leve in the gap between the crankarm and BB-cup. Pry a little an <plunk> out it comes. Usually takes no more than 2-3 seconds max.
