    IRO Mark V Fork Spacing

Hi, I've just started to build my bike and I'm having some trouble with this wheel I was gonna use for the bike. The back wheel fit perfectly in the rear but the front wheel seems too have too big of a lock nut. One solution I thought of was to sand down the spacing on the fork but it's not my first choice. What would be the best solution to this. I'm very much new to the forum as well as bike mechanics so please let me know if you'd like more info. Thanks!

is the spacing in the dropout(of the fork) 100 mm ? this should be the same for from one locknut to the other on the axle. are there spacer between the cones & locknuts ? if so you could remove them. or go to you lbs and get narrower locknuts.

Pretty much every upright, adult bike made in a few generations has 100mm front spacing. I know for sure (I have one) that a Mark IV does. Or should. Something is wrong with what you have. Either the fork has been comprimised somehow, or you got your hands on a funky wheel.
