barcon installation quandry

Bicycle: 1983 Fuji Touring Series III
Want: Barcon Retrofit
Problem: The frame is does not have brazed DT bosses, instead a bolt-on clamp that does not accept the barcon cable routers

Are there bolt-on DT bosses that WILL accept the barcon cable routers?

thanks in advance!

There are downtube clamps that act as cable housing stops. They don't accept the Shimano bolt-on cable stop/adjusters that come with barend shifters but they will do the same thing. They were very common on older cheap road bikes that used stem shifters so most older bike shops have them.

Here's what my Fuji Touring Series V came with. It was so rusted when I got it that I was afraid it would be worthless, but after polishing it up with steelwool it looked as good as new, and works just as well as the DT shifter stops that I have on other bikes.

Something like this:
http://www.oldbicyclejunk.com/store/...?productID=332
and something like this for the left shifter cable:
http://harriscyclery.net/itemdetails.cfm?id=1062
are what you need.

The clamp-on shown above works, but it's not that pretty. I like the Problem Solvers version better, but they do the same thing

Rivendell came out with one of their first really useful products in some time,
http://www.rivbike.com//#product=51-020
Does the same as the problem solver, but looks shiny

I can't be the only one who read that title as "Bacon Installation Quandry" and got a little excited, right? I mean, come on, it was potentially about BACON.
