Shifting and Cassette woes

I got my 09 Allez about 3 months and put about 500 or so miles on it. Lately when ive been shifting down to my 19T and 17T it begins to click then eventually the chain jumps or it misses a tooth or something, cause my pedal to jerk foward. If I shift back up and then back down it usually doesnt skip again. Im not sure were to even start looking to fix this problem. I tried a search but I really down know what I should be exactly looking to fix.

The bike has Sora and Tiaga components

Sounds like a simple RD barrel adjustment. Have you checked the links in the New Posters - please READ THIS thread at the top of the page?

or the derailer hanger is bent and needs to be aligned, or the shifter cable is frayed inside the shifter and needs to be replaced...hopefully before it breaks in the middle of a ride

Is there any particular reason not to take the problem to the LBS where you bought the bike? If your LBS is like mine, this fix would probably cost you nothing.

Nope. Q: 500 miles and it starts to shift poorly. A: New cable stretching to it's optimum length. Nothing fancy and an easy fix. Read #3 here
