Okay - so I'm a tard. I just don't have to do this stuff [ever].

Front wheel was stolen off of my MTB a couple days ago. Need to buy a replacement.

I almost never ride this bike - it's just for tooling around with the family and some total newbie mountain/really bumpy trail riding in the canyon.

Can anyone just recommend me a cheap wheel that'll get me by? I just need something that will turn in circles and hold a tire on it. 26", obviously. And I need QR so I can bring it up when not in use so our neighborhood thieves, which apparently exist, don't abscond with it. Doesn't need to be high performance at all.

I wouldn't recommend going too cheap on a wheel, especially if you're planning to do any "bumpy trail riding in the canyon". The old adage applies, "you get what you pay for". A very cheap wheel will have a low quality hub with a low quality bearing system, weak rims and weak spokes. I just bought an inexpensive (not cheap) wheel at Performance Bicycle for about $70, https://www.performancebike.com/bikes...05_20000_21000 This wheel has double wall rims and sealed cartridge bearings. It spins smoothly enough that the wheel will "pendulum" on the stand until the magnet for the computer on the spoke is at 6 o'clock. If I were you, I wouldn't go any cheaper than this. If your wheel fails or tacos coming down a bumpy rocky path, you could be looking at a very bad fall, with potentially very bad injuries. People coming off of their mountain bikes have become quadraplegics, so there's really false savings in very cheap wheels. They are likely to fail on you and you'll be back at square one, shopping for a new wheel.
