Dura-Ace dust cap stuck on 7800 cranks.
I need to overhaul my DA 7800 crankset to replace the hollowtech II bearings which are pretty well shot. The dustcap however is metal/aluminum (since it's dura-ace 
) and it isn't coming off with the place hand tool that came with the cranks. As far as I know, shimano doesn't make any other tools for removing their dustcaps from their Hollowtech II cranks; I've tried liquid wrench and pliers to apply additional torque to the handtool, but it seems to have cold-fused on there pretty good. Has anyone ever had this problem? Any suggestions?

use a large C-clamp to hold the tool in place. use a 6~8" adjustable wrench to turn the tool.
your tool has flat ends, doesn't it?

Thanks, but like I said, I've already tried a wrench wrapped around the dust cap plastic hand tool. All it did was strip the plastic grooves on the outside of the tool.
By the way, here's the tool I'm referring to: https://www.petracycles.co.uk/images/TLFC16.jpg (which happens to be the only dust cap tool that there is, that I know of).

Did you loosen the crank arm bolts first (to the point of sticking out)? I think cutting a flat on each side of the plastic tool and then putting a crescent wrench on it may help as well, just be sure to clamp it in place first.

you can't just wrap around a wrench on a curved surface, you need to have flat spots for it to bite.
this tool can do it. you can pop off the preload cap screw and use a wrench with it since it has flat spots.

An adjustable C-Clamp. Hmmm.... and only ten dollars too.
