creaking noice from stem
I noticed this creaking noise from the stem of my road bike the other day and it's gotten louder everyday. Could the stem possibly be too tight?

thanks, I'll adjust it. I just tightened it until I thought it was good enough. Do you guys think it's really important to tighten it with a torque wrench?

A modern stem should be attached using a torque-wrench to manufacturers' torque specifications. And done slowly from bolt-to-bolt, a little at a time. Don't just tighten down one bolt all the way and then the other. This applies to the stem attached to the steering-column as well as the handlebars.
What make and model bicycle do you have?
