Handlebars

I want to have a custom handlebar made. Aluminum tubing comes in 1" diameter (25.4mm), but the clamp band range for my Shimano Ultegra's (STI) are 23.8-24.2mm. Does anyone know if the clamp band can be stretched to fit over the 25.4mm tube?

no, not really.

you can always make your custom clamp band.

if you use 25.4mm where you grab the bars, it's going to be REALLY fat once you get the bartape on it.

I hope you know what you're getting yourself into. Handlebars aren't normal aluminum tubing- they are usually a specific alloy and generally go through a heat-treatment process after being bent into shape. Also, there's many, many variations on width and style of bend- if you have an idea of what you want, I'll bet it's already commercially produced.

A friend of mine makes custom aluminum handlebars, but they're aimed at the recumbent market: https://www.terracycle.com/Merchant2/...ategory_Code=H
