Converting Rear brake to front
I have a matching pair of Duel pivot brakes(dia-compe). Unfortunately they are identical, both having short (rear) pivot bolts.
I need to find a front (long) pivot bolt to convert one rear brake to a front. Anyone know a place that sells such small parts? The .jpg is of the short bolt. Thanks much!

Bike Tools Etc. has recessed brake nuts from 19mm to 35 mm long. One of these should work.

Nope,won't work, there is too much material at the front of the Carbon fork. I need a longer threaded area.

OK, in that case you really do need a front brake center bolt. Dia Compe is now Cane Creek here. Have your LBS order a replacement bolt through them or QBP.

I guess you eventually don't need an extra long bolt, but a nut for carbon forks. They come in different lengths. You should be able to get the correct part (or both nut and bolt if required) at your local bike shop. Below you got a pic. of what the nut should look like.

That's exactly what I recommended above. However the OP says the front of the fork crown is so thick that the short pivot bolt doesn't stick out far enough for any threads to be accessable. It doesn't matter how long the nut is if there are no threads it can reach.

I probably just need to find a front DP brake & swap bolts, not likely to find another Dia-Compe. How universal or standardized are these bolts between companies?
