110 to 74 BCD adaptor

Am I right in thinking that the item listed here https://www.seattlebikesupply.com/item/127776will let me replace my current 34T compact inner (110 BCD) with something smaller in 74 BCD? I'm confused by the picture. I would have expected to see two sets of holes.

I think Perhaps that spider is for cranks that have removeable spiders (note the hole for the crank arm notch to be bolted into. I would not think that it would adapt 110 to 74, but be 110 for the big rings and 74 for the granny.

You can't put anything smaller than 33 teeth on a 110mm bolt pattern- the chain will intersect the bolts.

If you want to keep your existing crank and install a 74mm bolt pattern ring (that is, anywhere down to 24 teeth), you need one of these:

Note that it says "Works with most tubular cranks that use a 19mm spindle." It's for BMX-style 3-piece steel cranks.

Thanks Jeff. I think that's just what I'm looking for.
