Ticking noise front part

OK, you guys are probably tired of seeing ticking noise problems but I've done a search here and I can't find anything even remotely close to what I'm experiencing. (maybe)

There is this ticking noise that seems to be coming from the front of the bike. At first I thought maybe its from the BB. I took it to the LBS and they checked the BB and the pedals and they found no problems there. I took it back and went for a ride and the ticking is still there. I disassembled and regreased the front hub and also the head set assembly. No luck.

The ticking happens when I'm pedalling and the handle bar is under load. If I stop pedalling, coast, and keep my hands on the bar the ticking stops. If I take my hands off the bar and keep pedalling the ticking also stops. Any ideas?

Look for where overlapping spokes have ground a faint-but-perceptible groove into one-or-both of them -- the "clicking" sound happens when one spoke moves in-and-out of the groove in the other spoke.

This happens on my bike, too... but only under load.

You many find the following links helpful in tracking it down:

https://sheldonbrown.com/creaks.html

AND

https://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=123

It's usually just a matter of patiently removing, cleaning,
re-lubing, and re-torquing fasteners until it quiets down.

Does this mean the spokes are loose? Also why won't it tick if I'm not pedalling but keeping load on the handlebars? In any case its one of the only things left I haven't checked. Thanks.

I had a threaded stem that was machined down just a little too much that caused a clicking sound while pedaling.
