Replace fork seals: DIY or LBS

My Manitou Black fork seal is leaking. I found a source online and it doesn't seem like a big task (maybe a bit messy). Is it a straight forward process, or are there a bunch of little details that will cause me to get mad at myself midway through for not letting a shop do it.

    Any hints or suggestions?

Call the shop and ask. The mechanic can also tell you how much they would want to do the job. Then you make the decision.

I would go to the shop.. then you don't mess up and have to go there, pay the original estimate, plus whatever it is to repair what you messed up, IE, new oil. Oh, and you don't want the coil to shoot out and kill you. That's never pleasent.

Most places charge by the hour for fork overhauls - generally around $85/hour.
