What to replace my cranks with
I have an old Shogun that I turned into a fixed gear a while ago, and I took the pedals off today for the first time ever, and they'd been cross threaded on, completely stripping all the threads out of the crank arm.
The cranks were "Sakae SA"s, probably from the mid eighties. I took it into a bike shop and they had a crank that would work for my bottom bracket (apparently it's a little long) but I'd need to replace my chainring. I really like my little chainring, and I like the Sakae SA cranks, even though they're a bit generic looking I don't mind, but I can't find another set. Not on ebay or craigslist or even in a portland bike shop?! If anybody knows where I could find a set, or has any advice on what else I could replace them with, I'd so so much appreciate it.

Sakae is a very good crank, Sugino and Suntour cranks were virtually the same, try another search and find one of those brands if Sakae is not turning up.

I believe the SA had a 110 mm bcd so any crank with the same bolt circle will accept the SA's chainrings. Look for any SR (Sakae's logo), Sun Tour, Suguino, Shimano, etc. crank with the matching bcd.
