Installing Brake on Full Carbon Fork?

I'm installing my first "full carbon" fork (EC90 SL) and have a question about installing the front brake. Previously there was a grooved nut that went between the fork and the brake itself (on the bolt that comes out from the brake). It made an indentation on the metal plate of the original fork, which is pretty common I think.

Do I still use the grooved nut with the full carbon fork?
