Are Campy left Shifters Interchangeable on 8,9, and 10 Speeds Groups?

My Campy left shifter has stopped working. I have an 8 speed group. Looking to buy replacement left side shifter on ebay. Are the left side shifters interchangeable regardless of whether they are 8, 9 or 10 speed?

As long as you avoid the '07 and '08 Centaur and Veloce "Escapement" Ergos I believe Campy front shifters are all pretty tolerant of any crank and front derailleur you attach them to. The "microshifting" they offer lets you trim them any way you need over a double or triple crank.

Also, the front shifter really doesn't know or care what is going on in back. The only "problem" may be that a newer Ergo will have a different shape than your current 8-speed brifter so the feel will be different.

Campy brifters are rebuildable. You might just need new G springs which are a whopping $5 each. What is it doing or not doing?
    1999 Waterford RSE-11, 1995 Waterford 1200, 1989 Specialized Rockhopper Comp
1989 Raleigh Technium, 1989 Schwinn Traveler, 1986 Specialized Rockhopper
1984 Specialized Stumpjumper, 1986 Specialized Stumpjumper and just way too many projects to list.

And if you don't want to rebuild it yourself, just send it in to Branford:
