Do not how to adjust brake lever/handle

Hello,

Sorry for this basic question.... I have to squeeze my right brake lever almost to its maximum in order to activate my rear brakes.. I would prefer to have it set much higher... how do I do this basic adjustment? I have dual pivot brakes on my road bike.

Thanks

shorten the cable length (there's usually an adjustment screw on the brake pivot). the less space between the pivot and the lever, the less pull of the lever before your brake engages. pull the cable away from the lever (the distance you're measuring is between the pivot and the lever), and tighten the screw back down. I'm pretty basic myself, so I might not be totally right.

The site Jeff posted is really good. After looking at the instructions on the site try using your barrel adjuster if there is any more travel left in it first. The iste above should show you where it is located and how to tighten or loosen it.
