Thanks! I'm pretty excited about getting it built up for my son. I'm basically transferring most the gear from a mid-90s Allez to it + the fork & wheels from a similar vintage Nishiki NFS Beta (guess that's why I kept putting off building that bike back) to the Faggin.
It would seem I could use a small block of aluminum and drill/tap it with thread matching brake calipers...and, thankfully, it would only be the rear brake I'd need to do that on. I was aware of the Tektro brakes, but I figured I could probably machine up a widget to make it work for much less than the $70+ or so the Tektros cost and so far I'm not visualizing another use for the Tektros on one of my other bikes once he's 'graduated' to 700c wheels on the Faggin. Since brake pressure will be *towards* the bridge, I suppose the rear is a bit more forgiving in terms of design (ie, braking forces shouldn't be trying to lever the caliper off the bike quite as easily).
