30 year old Fuji 12

I have this bike, all original. The chain is skipping in low gear and dropping off occasionally when I shift the front derailleur, and even less often switching the back derailleur. Is this something that can be adjusted or is it possible my old pal may need replacement?
Can a bike this old be fitted with a new CF seatpost and saddle and CF fork fitted? It's a beats at 35lbs. I'm not looking to shave weight really, just make a little more comfortable.

Your bike needs a tune up. There are probably worn out parts that need to be replaced.

Don't waste your money on plastic parts.

+1 on the tuneup

I understand the desire to change the ride, but even if you spent a lot of money on exotic replacement parts (and saved 5 lbs), you are still going to have a steel framed 30lb. bike that will ride - like it was intended to do. I would not waste the money nor the time, YMMV. BTW - pls post some pix in the C&V side of the house ...
