Rigid Fork Install???
I have a 2003 Marin Palisades Trail that I have started using for road riding. I would like to install a rigid fork has anyone done this? What do I need to know and what should I look for? Thanks

Look for a suspension corrected fork, Kona project 2 forks come to mind, it's most likely what's going on my MTB when I remove the old brick of a suspension fork.

Yeah, I did this to my old1998 Bontrager Privateer S. Apparently Bontrager used a non-standard rake so I was a little worried about the handling but in the end the bike is lighter and works well. I used a suspension corrected Salsa Cromoto fork and the bike rides well on both the road and trail. However, this past spring I used this bike for a 14 day tour of Quebec and I found it to be a little too flexible in the front end when fully loaded. Part of the problem may have been the rack I used and a low rider set up may remedy this problem.
