Tiagra is right below 105 in Shimano's product line and is a good group. The real step down in quality is from Tiagra to Sora.

I wonder if Tiagra is going to 10-speed next year. Of course there's nothing wrong with 9.

I have Tiagra shifters on two bikes. One I have owned for 6 years. Tiagra works great & has been 100% reliable. I have herd that the shift through is longer than D/A but i have no experience with D/A.

Nothing wrong with it. You just have to install and tune it right, like every other gruppo.

You are going to spend $200 plus the cost of a new cassette to down grade from 105 to Tiagra? Is there a problem with your 105 components? I doubt adding one cog is going to have a big impact on your riding.

Thanks guys
This is the first time I've installed ergo shifters so I took my time, put on a pot of coffee and sat down and read the instructions, took me just over 2 hours but they went on with no problems all I needed was a slight adjustment on the rear and none on the front, the realy cool thing about this is that the front is a Campy Veloce and Mavic 631 cranks and the Tiagra shifts it perfectly! Now the fun part I went out for a 5 mile shake down ride and they performed flawlessly and I can't believe I waited so long to switch to ergo shifters man what difference I came to a light that turned red and I could easily shift up while braking! Anyway I'm very happy and can't wait for the weekend to go for a long ride.
Thanks again
