taking off front tire of Stinky 06

I am trying to take off my front tire and am having problems. I used the quick release tab and unscrewed that bar that goes in between the tire but it is still connected to the forks and the wheel doesn't come off. How do I get it off. It is a new bike for me.

The brake pads are probably holding it up. Depending on the type of brakes your bike has, you'll need to engage some sort of quick-release to open up your brake arms enough to remove the wheel.

Once you get the brake calipers opened up enough you may have to give the wheel a little jerk to get the hub past the "lawyer lips".

If you have a basic Stinky(open fork ends) then just make sure you've unscrewed the QR far enough and the wheel will drop out.
If you have the Stinky deluxe then you may find the forks have an axle retaining clamp which you'll need to loosen.
