chainring - chain tension
So, I was helping this person work on their 1spd Freewheel bike, trying to even out the chain tension. We lightly loosened the chain ring bolts and gave the chain a tap on the places where it was tight when the spider arm (what ever you call the connecty bits on the crank) @ 12 o'clock position. We did it a couple of times but it never got totally even. Should we just try it again or has her new-ish chain ring become ovaled?
Also, as an aside, can you put a bio-pace style chainring on a SSfw Bike and not have uneven chain tension?

its normal to have a bit of difference unless its something really high end.
and yes, you can run a biopace chainring singlespeed.

If you use a chain tension device, you won't have to finesse the tension as described.
