cable housing ferrule doesn't fit
I recently purchased a bike on Craig's list. It was built of various components and a good deal. I tracked down the fellow who built the bike to find out who manufactured the frame as it had been painted with no stickers or decals on it. He said that it was a Raleigh Ti prototype. Here's my problem: the rear derailleur cable housing was pulling through the chain stay stop. It didn't have a ferrule on the end. I got a 4mm ferrule from a LBS, but the ferrule is too big for the stop. It seems like the cable is just the right size to insert in the stop. I put the ferrule on anyway and let it butt against the stop instead of inserting it. All seems to work (no shift problems) but it just doesn't seem right. Any suggestions. It's a campy record 10 speed derailleur and shifters.
