Creaking noise after wash.

I washed my bike yesterday. Relubed the chain and RD. This afternoon, I took the bike out for a ride. I noticed that the bike now emits some sort of creak/groan. It only happens when I am riding it. When I spun the wheels or pedal push without weight on it, the is no noise. What could it be?

You may find the following links helpful in tracking it down:

https://sheldonbrown.com/creaks.html

AND

https://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=123

It's usually just a matter of patiently removing, cleaning,
re-lubing, and re-torquing fasteners until it quiets down.

I have a once per rev click on one of my bikes and I'm about out of patience trying to track it down, the next tools it might see will either be a sledgehammer or a sawzall..... :-)

Somebody I know washed out bottom bracket bearing grease while hosing down his bike, and as a result various creaking noises appeared.

This just happened to me today, after I washed my bike with an SOS pad.... creaking, groaning noises (and brake squeal). I suspected it was because I didn't rinse properly, and after hosing it down with a jet spray, most of the noises disappeared, including brakes. YMMV.

Sealed cartridge bearings can keep out rain water to a certain extent but if you point the garden hose at them or those pressurized hoses found at car wash joints the grease will come off.
