No rust inhibitors likely to be in a personal lube unless there is one now made for robots and I do not think that they are that advanced yet. When there are we are obsolete.

BTW there are now condoms on the market which are not latex and are resistant to non water based lubricants.

Perhaps you can find out what lube they use in the Cherry 2000:

It might work well, and it might not. But I wouldn't take a chance. Get a good chain lubricant. To go expensive, buy it at a bike shop. To go cheap, get some ATF and put it in a small squeeze bottle.

Put the personal lubricant on freecycle. That will get more entertainment. I once put an open package of unused condoms on freecycle. The results were humorous.

personal lubricant: for personal use.

chain lubricant: for chains.

if you're not happy with the lube, get yourself a roll of plastic film from your local Home Depot type store, roll it out on your lawn and use the lube to make a really excellent slip-n-slide. You did buy like 3 gallons of the stuff right? that's why you need another use?

Silicone lubes are perfectly safe for most people as sex lubes, and do not weaken condoms (there's nothing in silicone that reacts with latex). They can break down other things made of low-grade silicone, though, so if you somehow have any silicone components, you might want to think twice.

Personally, I've used Wet Platinum as a lube on cables - it's very light, non-sticky, doesn't get goopy, doesn't seem to attract dust or gunk. What else could be better?

I wouldn't. But only because I am cheap. I would hate to have to buy my bike dinner every time I wanted to ride it.

Or seatpost. Reminds be of an old Bike catalog (Bikology ?) with a woman in bathing suit holding a seatpost with the tag "Remember to grease before insertion"

I believe that was "Grease well before insertion." No, I no longer have a copy of that Bikecology catalog.

Heck, try it. You never know. It might work. Waste not, want not.

WD-40 and Preperation H both work well as fish attractants. Who would have ever guessed that? Perhaps that extra tube of jickum you got would work well as a chain lube.

If petroleum oil is from petroleum, what is baby oil made from?
