Fixing up some brakes.
You know the metal tube on brakes?
On my old Huffy, on the front brakes, the end of the metal actually came off. It is still there, but can I possibly reattach it with some solder?
Its a 24in MTB, it sucks, but my sister could use it. Its better than no bike, and she does gymnastics all the time so she won't get much use out of a bike either.

Umm - you need to rephrase the 'metal tube' analogy. I have no idea what you mean. If you have a camera, take a few photos and describe what we are looking at.
Cheers.

The part called the 'Noodle'
The end that makes sure it hooks on to the brakes, it was actually sheared off. Could I solder it back on?

No need to try to repair, unless your lbs is miles and miles away, or if you want to treat it as an execise in metalworking. Noodles have a plastic liner that makes the cable slide easier. This wears out after a while, so noodles are easily(and cheaply) available as spare parts. They're not even brand-specific, so you can use whichever you find.

alot of noodles just push the ends on for a good tight fit.
so you might be able to push the parts together
If theres any deformation in the noodle it might jam the cable and stop the brake from releasing properly.
front noodles and the link arm on the caliper often get mangled when the bike falls over and the steering turns and it hits the down tube.
you can get replacement noodles cheaply.
theres 2 angles you can get. 90degrees as in the picture. And 135 degrees has more of a bend in it. Then theres bendy noodles. Think there a dead loss.
some noodles are longer than others. So might need a new inner cable too.

STEP 1.) adjust brakes so they don't rub on rim
STEP 2.) adjust rim so it doesnt rub on rim
either step 1 or 2 can be aplied in either order
if u take ur bike to a LBS, they might get pissed
