made my own suntour barcons..but i have a couple of questions..
so i took parts from my parts bin...a top mounted set of suntour friction shifters and shimano barcons
and made this...
the thing is, I needed to retain the shimano spacer thing seen in this pic so that the cable holes line up on the lever and pod.
However, I noticed that the suntour top mounted braze-on is flat vs. the spacer which has indents and "steps??"
Does that flat spot on the braze-on mount generally require grease so the ratcheting system works properly? i raise the question because the shimano spacer is not flat thus not allowing for grease??
It shifts well enough. Now I dont have to buy those diacompe ones! yipee!

Those SunTour shifters are friction only; no ratchet.
