How do I remove this bracket? w/ Pics

Hello,

I cannot figure out how to get this thing out. I have already hammered it very hard. Sorry for the blurry images.

Thanks in advance!

The short answer is it just unscrews from the frame. Counter clockwise on the left side of the bike, clockwise on the right side of the bike.

Bottom brackets have a reputation for seizing in the bottom bracket shell. That's probably what yours has done. To remove it non-destructively you need to find a way to put a LOT of torque into it. I doubt a pin wrench sized to fit into those two little dowel holes is going to do it.

If it was my bike I'd be looking for ways to drill and/or cut the bottom bracket apart.

you need a pin spanner tool. hopefully your pounding on the cap did not ruin the threads.

.
Other way around. Left side: right threaded. Right side: left threaded. That's assuming the bike uses English threads.

Use a lot of penetrating oil/rust breaker on the thing first. Let it sit with the cup vertical so that it goes into the threads.
You may be able to make a suitable pin spanner with some steel stock of the right size and a vise; bend the right-angle bends in the vise and then cut the ends off with a cutoff wheel or hacksaw.
