Frame Builders
Hey there,
I'm currently intersted in mayb getting a customer Trials frame, if it works out, I'd consider trying to sell it. My question is, are there any frame builders out there (email or website) that do chromoly and/or aluminum? I'd only want chromoly if its 853 or something relativley light, but otherwise aluminum. I guess I'd prefer something on the cheaper end, however I know most custom frames don't come cheap.
Thanks, if you guys could reply with ideas/help/frame builders, thatd be awesome

You hit the nail on the head when you said custom shops don't come cheap! There are plenty of custom shops, but one that comes to mind is Waterford; their prices are reasonable for custom but not cheap. But stay tuned to this forum because others will have different sources.

Is a trials frame some kind of MTB style? There are few custom mtb makers. The best reference for steel builders is at henryjames.com.853 is not the only decent steel out there. It is considered too fragile for use in expedition touring bikes, esp in terms of crushing the tube. Check out the Reynolds and Columbus websites for their steels.

Alright, I will check henryjames.com, thanks, I mean, I guess I don't need the nicest steel, but I would like to keep the frame under 5 lbs. Ultimatley, this isnt super duper custom nor exact, I would give them a design, but ultimaltey I would just like to choose the wheelbase, chainstay lenght, seatube etc.
