Repair stand with a TT bike?

I have a Topeak PrepStand Pro repair stand that I am currently using for my Allez road bike. I am clamping the bike by the seat post unless I am just "sitting" the bike of the stand by using the top tube. However i do not clamp it. I do not even apply presure to the tube.

Now looking at the TT bike, their seat post are rather rectangular and flat. What is the proper way to clamp it to a stand without causing any damage to the bike and without any fear of the bike falling as you run through the gears (as in when cleaning the chair or so).

Thanks,

I am used to using the clamp on my Park Tool PCS-10 on the top-tube. I am very careful to engage the quick-release and then gently screwing the lever down onto the tube. Just a minor variation can be all the difference between the bike being able to rotate - to it being held fast. Works for me, but I wouldn't recommend it be done in a store-front shop. Too many people running about who might knock it about.

Do use a clean towel, or similar, around the tube or seatpost to add more padding.

Don't... clamp around the tube. It's much cheaper to replace the seatpost than it is the frame. The clamp on the OP's stand should (if there's enough exposed seatpost section) to easily clamp around a aero post section).

My point is that it's safe to do if you only tighten the clamp manually. Don't ever think it's properly positioned and use the quick-release on the clamp to tighten it up. Turn the assembly by hand. I met a person who used the Q-R on the clamp on a Cinelli. Dead Cinelli frame. Squish!

TT Carbon Frames usally do not have any round tubes / or seat posts.

Specialized Transition Pro or Cervelo P2 2009 - I have an topeak pro repair stand.
How would you hold each one of these bikes. notice the "retangural" and "flat" seat posts.
