OIl seal orientation on a Manitou Black suspension fork

I'm in the middle of installing Enduro brand aftermarket oil seal and wipers onto the lower castings of a 2004 Manitou Black Air suspension fork.

Do you know the proper orientation of the oil seal: should the flat surface face towards the rider or should the grooved surface face towards the rider?

I sent a message to Enduro, but I assume they're closed tomorrow, and I want to finish the installation and ride tomorrow!

(Top photo shows the grooved surface, bottom shows flat surface)

Wow, I sent the query to Enduro fork right before I posted this and they replied with the answer, within 15 minutes on a Sunday night on a three day weekend. Dang, that is great customer service! These guys are great!
